Rim Locks
Chub Rim Cylinder Rim locks are installed on the face of the door not ‘within’ it like a mortice lock, the sash locks latch would be included within the lock case and these types of locks normally work with Handles that have key holes as well. The latch is designed to hold the door into the frame and the dead lock to throw the bolt into the keep to secure the door into place.
Mortice Locks

A mortice lock usually consists of a 3 or 5 lever internal mechanisms and is fitted by drilling a hole in the side of a door so when the door is closed you do not see the lock only the small keyway entrance hole.

Cylinder Locks
A cylinder lock is more commonly known as a ‘Yale’ lock and would be the top lock on most standard doors.

We can supply padlocks for all applications including keyed alike, master keyed, long shackle, combination, high security, weatherproof, solid steel, classic brass, discus, and laminated.

An increasing number of organisations of all sizes have been recognising the benefits of replacing their old key based systems for controlling access to buildings with electronic access control systems. The benefits in lower running costs and ease of administration are well proven.

What are access control systems?

Access control systems are security systems that control entry into or within buildings through controlling doors, gates and barriers. These doors are opened usually through the use of:

  • Entering a code into a keypad
  • Presenting a key fob or token
  • Swiping a card
  • Finger print entry

Where are access control systems used?

Anywhere which would benefit from controlling access into or around their premises. Examples include:

  • Flats
  • Offices
  • Leisure Centres
  • Schools
  • Warehouses
  • Marinas
  • Self Storage Facilities
  • Factories

Specific parts of buildings can be controlled, limiting who can enter at different times. This is particularly useful for restricted areas in offices, schools and leisure clubs.
